Bette Midler
(You gotta have) "Friends" is a song Moogy wrote with Buzzy Linhart in the early 70's It quickly became Bette Midler's theme song from her early gigs, after she heard Buzzy Linhart sing it, when he would open for her at the Continental Baths. She has recorded it on several of her albums. It appeared in 1972 on her first album "Divine Miss M", then on "Live at Last" in 1972, "Experience the Divine" in 1995 and just now released again on "3 for One", April 2000. She performed it as well on TV like in the Bette Midler Show.
Others have recorded it (Barry Manilow etc.) and sung it in films like Diane Keaton in "Lemon Sisters" and most recently, Meryl Streep and family sing it in "One True Thing"

Moogy produced Bette's Album "Songs for the New Depression" in 1976 and was also the main arranger and main keyboardist. Bette recorded a Moogy original "Let me Just Follow Behind" for "Songs of the New Depression". This album is also notable for a Duet of Bette with Bob Dylan!
