Irwin is still in top
form and he's 93 years young!!!
Corey gained prominence in television on the talk shows of Steve Allan,
Jack Paar, Johnny Carson and Ed Sullivan. On Jackie Gleason's show as a
regular with Jayne Mansfield and Frank Fontaine. He did the Martha Rey
Show, Sgt. Bilko, Andy Griffith, Andy Williams, "Doc" Bernard Hughs tv
series, The Smother's Brothers, and Others in scripted shows. And all
the rest of the Talk Shows from Dick Cavette, Merv Griffin, Mike
Douglas, Pat Boon (Co-host for 1 week) Woody Woodberry, Joe Franklyn,
to David Letterman, and I forget the rest... In radio he was Charlie
McCarthy's tutor, and some people believe he was hiding in Fibber
MaGee's closet.
After a 10 year hiatus from the Broadway stage, the Professor was "Sylvester Sly" in TAMING OF THE SHREW and the Gravedigger in HAMLET for Zoe Caldwell (director) at the Stratford Shakespere Festival. Moogy Klingman - Moogy
was a founding member of Todd Rundgren's "Utopia". Moogy will be performing the
Utopia theme as well as songs from his Capitol, EMI and Moogymusic solo
albums - songs that went on to be recorded by people like Johny Winter, Eric
Clapton, Barry Manilow, Bette Midler, Todd Rundgren and others. Moogy's
band will be playing other songs he wrote like "Dust in the Wind" which Todd
Rundgren recorded on his "Something, Anything" album and Axel Rose & Guns
& Roses does live in concert (on their very occasional gigs). He'll also
be
doing a song he co-wrote with Buzzy Linhart
called, "You Gotta Have Friends', which is

Moogy has played, recorded and/or had his songs covered by
many rock legends, including Jimi Hendrix, Chuck Berry, Luther Van Dross, Bob
Dylan, Bo Diddley, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Allan Woody and Warren Haynes from
the Allman Bros & Gov't Mule. Moogy has worked with great female rockers
like Bette Midler, Carly Simon, Cindy Lauper, Shawn Colvin, Irene Cara, and
Thelma Houston.
Jim Satin on guitar is an blues/R & B guitar legend. He was Bo
Diddley lead guitarist and band leader for 14 years and lead the Ron Wood band
(of the Rolling Stones) on a world tour.
He and Moogy also played together
in the "Moogy/Woody Band" with Allmans Brothers alumni Allan Woody, and Warren
Haynes. Jim has played guitar for the original Temptations, Ronnie Spector, and
Sam and Dave, among many others. Jim just finished the Buzzy Linhart/Moogy
Klingman mini - tour with Phoebe Snow.
Julie Eigenberg has sung with
everyone including Vicky Sue Robinson (Turn the Beat Around) and Aretha Franklin
at Madison Sq. Garden! Her solo album "Julie" was produced by David Spinozza,
renowned studio guitarist and it's single went to #6 in Japan. She was on
Broadway featured in the musical "Ghetto" some seasons back, Julie Eigenberg is
a singer, actress and a 1983 Grammy Award winning song-writer. Julie co-wrote
the lyrics to Michel Camilo's Why Not! She was performing that and other
original songs (Forbidden Fruit, We Three) with the N.Y.C. super band,
French Toast,
Dave Simon played harmonica and sang lead in the Jim Kweskin Jug
Band, back when they were one of the biggest things in the country. Back then he
went under the moniker of "Bruno Wolf". He also played in the King Bees and

Went to Moogy's ......... gig tonight on the Upper West Side.
The house was packed, as is the norm for his gigs, and he and his band,
The Moogy
Klingman Band, really got the crowd going with favorites
like "Undercover Man", "Coney Island" and "People of the World Against
War". There were a few quieter numbers as well -- "Millionaires and
Billionaires" and "Village Voices" were solo piano.

My favorite of his songs, though, is the 9/11 one -- "Have You Seen My Brother?" It's a really great song that manages to tug at your heart without being maudlin, yet also expresses beautifully what it was like to be a New Yorker right after the Twin Towers went down and so many people were unaccounted for. (One of my own friends was missing for a while but had luckily been evacuated to New Jersey from Battery Park after she escaped the Towers' fall.) <<The Moogy Klingman band rocks the nite away>> Ian Lloyd of the band Stories joined Moogy at the piano during the first set for a duet version of "Only the Outlaws are Free" -- one of several Moogy classics with a political tone, like "Undercover Man" and "People of the World Against War".

The first set was finished off with the ever-popular
"Utopia Theme", a nod to Moogy's being one of the founding members of
Todd Rundgren's "Utopia".

Moogy is so many things at once, its hard to believe it all exists on one stage. With his refreshing, well-polished song-writing, his formidable and smooth voice and his tremendous playing, Moogy took us all for a ride through the blues, rock and roll, political musings, 80's ballads, and back to the blues again. Moogy displayed thundering piano moves alongside his five-piece band that included drummer Liberty Devitto, Bassist Even Steven Levee, guitarist Jim Satten and singers Julie Eigenberg and Aisha Hinton. Moogy's songwriting never disappoints. Kicking off the show with his signature blues style songs with impressive solos he instantly reminds the packed audience why they love the blues. Harmony-heavy, crowd-pleaser, You Gotta Have Friends sounded just as fresh as any of his newer material. His delicate somber storytelling of September 11th inspired events, beautifully woven through the voices of Moogy, Julie and Aisha, was perfectly performed. Moogy's performances are filled with instrumental genius, lots of live energy and of course, the blues.

blues and R & B acts. Jim played guitar on the
Buzzy Linhart/Moogy Klingman mini - tour with Phoebe Snow as guest
vocalist, last summer.
Even Steven Levee has been playing
bass with Moogy for many years in bands like "Moogy and the
Mojo's" and "Freak Parade" Even has worked with many rocks acts
including Brad Factor and others. Even also produces acts at his
studio such as Gun Hill and former Lovin' Spoonful member, Joe Butler.
Even just finished the Buzzy Linhart/Moogy Klingman mini -tour with

Andy Began is one of NYC's most working
rock/blues drummers who plays regularly with rockin' blues legend, Jon
Paris at Lucille's - the B.B. King club. He was a member of the Suits,
a rock band with movie star Kathleen Turner. Andy has played with just
about everyone.
Montana is new to the scene and Moogy is proud
to be presenting her with his band.

Moogy Klingman meets "Prince's brain", Dr.
Matt Fink.
Mid May, 2007, "Dr."
Matt Fink stopped by to visit Moogy while he was working on his
new album. Moogy Klingman, hard at work on his new CD for Silver Moon
Records, gets a visit from Prince's longtime keyboardist, Dr. Matt
Fink. Matt played keys for Prince and the Revolution from the very
first record back in 1978 until 1990. For 12 years Matt played
keyboards with Prince on all tours, records, movies (Purple Rain)
and even co-wrote about 6 songs with Prince that were featured on
Prince's albums from those years.
Matt was a big Moogy fan and
wanted to meet the Moogman. Matt loved Moogy's playing on all the early
Todd Rundgren and Utopia records and was very happy to meet Moogy at
his studio. Moogy also professed to be a huge Prince and the Revolution
fan and loved all the records that Matt had done with Prince.
After hanging at the
studio, the pair went to the Cutting Room and jammed out with Richie
Cannada (Billy Joel's Saxman) for a great musical nite.
Moogy's new album
"Moogy Klingman is alive & well & still living in Manhattan"
should be out sometime in July. Moogy has a flurry of NYC dates around

Libery Devitto was Billy Joel's drummer for 3
decades. - 1973 to 2003. During that time
Liberty did all of Billy Joel's tours and recordings as
his drummer. Every hit single and album done by Billy Joel during those
three decades features Liberty on drums!
