| .......... | in October '99... .....The
song selection is always excellent but what really gets me smiling is when
Moogy breaks into a solo. It carries me back to the days of early
Utopia and all the great memories I have of seeing him play with the band
back then. Keep playing.....don't ever stop. Moogy is an exceptional
writer and musician and he's surrounded with a great bunch of musicians
as well.....it's required listening! ~ Ralph
... They played all the other hits and the entire band is made up of very good musicians. The guitar player did a really nice job on 'Dust In The Wind', the very attractive female singer nailed the vocals on 'Let Me Just Follow Behind' and the bass player really anchored things on stuff like "Lady Face", my personal favorite of the evening. 'Friends' brought up a guest backup singer who also made some great additions to the opener 'A Little Help From My Friends'. Meanwhile, Moogy's still got the flying fingers and witty repartee. The Gaslight is a very pleasant place to hang out, it's got cool couches and comfortable chairs. So not only did I get to see in person, in an intimate setting, the guy on all those records I've been listening to all these years, but best of all got to hang out later and chat with the man himself as well as the band who were all extremely gracious. It was the perfect ending to a perfect weekend. Thanks Moogy, you're the best! ~Don L |
