In 1973, I was playing in a band called "Moogy and the Rhythm Kings". A friend of mine named Todd Rundgren asked me to form a band with him. It was to have a futuristic vision and bringing most of the members of my band with me, we formed "Utopia".
In the year, 2000, I was playing in a band called "Moogy and the MoJo's". I was approached by a long lost friend of mine named Kevin Ellman, who asked me to form a band with him. It was to have a Utopian vision and bringing most of the members of my band with me, we formed "Freek Parade".
With Katia Floreska, Even Steven and Don Celenza, we started gigging in Manhattan. And then we did these recordings at home in the moogy music studios.
A combination of old Utopia and newer - bluesier material........ here tis. Hope you like it.

Crazy World
by Moogy Klingman and Anthony Micheal Hall
copyright 1995 moogy music/hall of mirrors

first, there is peace, - then there is war
first, she's a virgin, - now you're calling her a whore
first, there is fire, - then there is water
first, it's your mama, - now, it's your daughter

chorus
it's always a surprise, - it's a crazy world
it'll cut you down to size, - it's a crazy world
it takes all kinds, - it's a crazy world
it'll blow your mind, - it's a crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy world

first, you are rich, - now you are poor
first, you're in love, - now she's walking out the door
first,  you learn to walk, - now you're on the run
first, it's your mama, - now, it's your son

chorus

a fool tells a joke, - a wise man tells a riddle
about some people to so much - some people got so little
first you're all right, - now, you're all wrong
we got tonite - but, will we see the dawn?

chorus

first, you are so hot - but, now you got so cold
first, you are so young - but now you got so old
first, you speak of love - but now you speak of hate
first, you're always early - but now, you're always late

Lady Face
by Moogy Klingman
copyright 1975 - moogy music

I need her loving - love that's mine and mine alone
oh, it's so lonely - living on my own
I am the dreamer, dreams are where she loves to hide
love, hear me calling - calling from inside
calling from deep inside

chorus
I am crying here, crying here, crying here
crying to meet my sweet little ladyface      2 x's

She needs my loving, yes she feels the way I feel
someday I'll find her, I will make her real
she dwells in darkness - waiting for the sun to rise
someday she'll be dawning - right before my eyes

la, la, la, la, la, la, la,  - 4 x's
dying to meet my sweet little lady face!

Freak Parade
by Moogy Klingman, Todd Rundgren & John Seigler
copyright 1974 warner brothers music

I never was bothered by bad dreams
They never made me afraid
but then I never did dream I'd wake up
and find me in the freak parade.

I guess I had to find out the hard way
I shouldn't have  been so proud
cause here I am the main attraction
of every giggle in the crowd.

chorus
in a world full of freaks
you can creep, you can crawl
but the world's biggest freak
is the one with no balls

you know you shouldn't poke fun at strangers
or pity their case at all
cause there are lots of freinds and lovers
that take it kind of personal

You might appreciate our position
don't laugh at our freaky ways
cause you might find yourself tomorrow
marching in the freak parade

Kindness
by Moogy Klingman
copyright 1970 moogy music

it had rained for three days straight, but the sun was beginning to shine
two riders were approaching, but they weren't no friends of mine
I called out for Hannah, and I kept her close to my side
whistled for old Thunder, and my horse he was ready to ride

chorus
I give you everything I have, baby - ain't that a kindness
I give you the good with the bad, baby - ain't that a kindness
I give you my love when you're sad, baby  - ain't that a kindness
but you know a man ain't nothing without his gun

been on the road six nites and days, only then did we think we were safe
I heard the sound of two riders and I did not hesitate
Hannah, she was crying - but, she wouldn't let go of my leg
Thunder, he was tired - just a thinking of the better days

chorus

two shots fired, two figures fell - there was blood flowing over the ground
two men dead in the noon day sun - but they never even made a sound
Hannah never forgave me - and I think I know the reason why
when I called out for Thunder - my horse, he up and died

Only the Outlaws are Free
by Moogy Klingman
copyright 1992, moogy music

there was a man - he came to this world
with love in his hand - his banner unfurled
but, they jailed him with their lies - in the end he was crucified
they'll do it to me - they'll do it to you
you know that it's true

chorus
when freedom is outlawed
one day it will be
when freedom is outlawed, oh yeah!
only the outlaws are free, yeah, yeah - only the outlaws are free

there is a cloud, hanging over this land
it's looks to rain on down, each woman and man
cause the freedom that you take - that's the only freedom that you make
so, I'll take some for you - if you take some for me
I know we'd agree

chorus

You see, the thing is.... the main thing I'm trying to tell you ..... what I'm trying to say is - first, they came for the squeegee men, and I didn't speak out cause I wasn't a squeegee man. Then, they came for the street artists, and I didn't speak out, ... I wasn't a street artist. Then, they came for all the peddlers. I wasn't a peddler so I didn't protest. Then, they came for all the homeless and all the poor people. And I wasn't a homeless, poor person. I.... I didn't say anything.
By the time they come for you and me, they'll be no one left to speak up at all!!

so many people will do what they can
they're willing to stand on up, each woman and man
cause the people will be free - they'll fight back..... wait and see
they'll stand up for you - they'll stand up for me
I know you'd agree

Fountain of Youth
by Moogy Klingman and Buzzy Linhart
copyright 1994 moogy music and buzzart  pub.

fountain of youth, a coin tossed over your shoulder
you could search the whole world over,
or I could take you there

mountains of truth, just outside of your window
you could climb the highest mountain
but, you won't find it there

chorus
time bends - if you know the secret
somewhere - magic's in the air
time slides - all around and thru you
faith heals -  love is everywhere

fountain of youth - just this side of the rainbow
a wise man told a story - and this is what he said
"when children sing - the music tells you the secret.
the answer lies within you - the fountain's in your mind"

Coney Island
by Moogy Klingman
copyright 1981 moogy music

some girls like an evening at the opera
some girls think a broadway show is fine
some women love a week-end in the Hamptons
but my baby, she's got one  thing on her mind...... her mind

chorus
my baby loves coney island - my baby thinks it's fine
my baby loves coney island - we go there all the time

my baby don't like to dance in no discos or ride on no ocean liner
but you just mention the island of coney,
and she'll tell ya, "nothing could be finer"

chorus

one day, while on the island of coney, into the water I jumped in
I said, "hey baby, why don't you come on and join me?"
she said, "I would, but I don't know how to swim"

chorus

my baby told me, "when I die, I want to go to heaven smiling.
won't you - take me body and bury it there,
beneath the boardwalk deep in coney island"

Undercover Man
by Moogy Klingman
copyright 1995 moogy music

hey, you better watch your back
don't go messing with the crack
he will be there like a bug, crawled out from neath a rug
undercover man

don't sell women, don't sell drugs
don't you hang around with thugs
he will never fail, he will put your ass in jail
the undercover man

chorus
undercover man - catch me if you can
try to understand - one day you will see
with your guns and your hi - powered agencies
you're no match for me

it was me and Johny C,
little Joey- he made three
Johny C he lied, ate a bullet and he died,
no more Johny C

lIttle Joey's doing time - got convicted of that crime
now Joey's good as dead - cause he's talking to the fed
and the undercover man

chorus

now, I'm out here on my own - got no woman - got no home
my gun is in my hand for a final stand
with the undercover man

they just launched a sneak attack
they just shot me in the back
I'm bleeding on the ground - you won the final round
undercover man

chorus 2
Undercover man - now I understand
there's a master plan - you were after me
with your goons and hi-end technology
you're the end of me

now i'm sitting here in jail, - they just revoked my bail
they're reading all my mail - he don't ever fail
the undercover man

chorus 2

DA: Son - there is a way for you to get out of this prison.
Convict: There is?
DA:  That's right son. It requires that you do just one thing and you'll go free.
Convict: yeah, yeah.... I'll do it! What thing is that?
DA: Well, son. We're going to need you to wear a wire on your old gang.
Convict: Me? A wire?
DA: That's right, son. We want you to go undercover for us.
Convict: Me? Become an undercover man?? No, I won't be an undercover man!!
Fuck you!! I won't be an undercover man!!

Empyre
by Moogy Klingman
copyright 2000 moogy music

when I was a boy, I lived in the home of my mother and my dad
grateful for what they gave me,
thankful for the friends I had

Now I'm a man and I know that nothing in this life comes for free
but the dream lives on so deep inside of me

shining on forever, reaching higher and higher and higher
it's not easy, when you're trying to build an empyre

chorus
Empyre  - reacher higher and higher and higher - higher and higher
trying to build me an empyre

I look to the masses of the crowds of the people that I see there on the street
I see lots of lonely faces, so lost and in defeat
through this life I traveled, throught this life I roam
I'm a man with a dream, and I'm out there all alone

chorus

you could say that I'm strange
you could say I'm no good
you could even call me a no account liar
you could beat me with sticks, beat me with stones
cast my body on into the fire
you could do what you want, you could do what you will
I don't care cause you'll only inspire me,
and I'm trying to build an empyre!!

shining on forever, reaching higher and higher and higher
it's not easy, when you're trying to build an empyre
